A striking variant of the Astray line from the side story Mobile Suit Gundam SEED VS ASTRAY, the Gundam Astray Turn Red is a custom machine built by engineer and self-proclaimed rival of Lowe Guele, Valerio Valeri. Constructed using spare Astray parts and controlled by the advanced combat AI “80,” this unit inverts the iconic colors of the Red Frame—white as the base with bold red accents—to emphasize its role as a deliberate rival machine.
This Master Grade kit recreates Turn Red’s unique silhouette with all-new molding throughout the head, backpack, and waist units. The redesigned head features an oversized V-shaped blade antenna and distinctive chin guard, giving the face a menacing, horned profile. Armor paneling across the chest, shoulders, and limbs sharpens the Astray’s athletic proportions, while the new backpack houses connection points and suspension arms for its massive Tactical Arms units.
Two large Tactical Arms are mounted wing-like on the back and can transform between multiple configurations, including enormous buster-sword forms and heavy ranged-weapon modes. A dedicated support stand is included to help manage their weight in dynamic poses, allowing you to display Turn Red in sweeping sword swings, hovering attack stances, or fully deployed “full burst” setups. Additional equipment such as a beam rifle, shield, and hip-mounted magazines round out its armament, reflecting its versatile battlefield role.
Built on the proven MG Astray frame, Turn Red offers excellent articulation in the torso, hips, shoulders, and ankles, enabling aggressive melee poses, wide-legged stances, and airborne action scenes. Despite the bulk of the Tactical Arms, the internal frame and locking mechanisms maintain stability, while crisp panel lines and part separation provide a high level of detail even before painting or panel lining.
